It does make some sense but in South Africa where most of the hunting is done on game farms baboons are not really such a nuisance but maybe the farmer next door is planting milies but the baboons are smart enough to know that they won't be shot on sight when in the game farm like on the milie farm.

Last year Limpopo has cahnged some lwas and you need a baboon permit to shoot one these days especially if you wnat to export the trophy or part of it. Maybe hunters will think twice now before they shoot at baboons especailly as the permit is not for free which means they will have a trophy fee to their head.
