While I have never hunted in africa, I do have a bit of experience with the 303 hunting north american whitetail deer.

I use Hornadys 174 grain roundnose softpoint interlock bullet driven to 2450 fps.
With this load I have accounted for over a dozen deer. No bullets have been recovered, all have been broadside or quartering shots with complete pass though. None of these animals have travled more than 20 yards after the shot.

I have experimented with the Woodleigh 215 grain RNSN bullet and they give good accuracy from my Ruger but I do not need the extra bullet weight/penetration for the hunting I do with the 303.

I belielve that Rule_303 has been using the Woodliegh 174 grain PP bullet in his Ruger but I do not know if he has taken any game with it yet.
