A firing squad would be cheaper, perhaps, but then might escalate the poacher/ranger war - or not. It may send a more powerful statement, though. 35 years - perhaps these Chinese men's families have to send money to pay the Government to feed the men?? That might also be a good method. Don't send money? They starve. Sounds perfect to me.
