How's this for balls of steel?

Gentlemen,

Once again I find myself apologising for my absence from the forums, but work is keeping me busy.

I came across this while researching some of my gallant predecessors and thought you just had to see it:

Edwardo OMARA, GC

No. & Rank at the Time of Action: Unknown

Unit/Occupation:

Date and Place of Birth: 1910, Uganda

Family:

Early Life:

Date and Place of GC Action:

The London Gazette: 9th October 1934

Citation:

Account of Deed: A game scout who was anxious to punish a herd of marauding elephants, had wounded two bulls when one of them charged him and pinned him to the ground. Mr. Omara pulled out the scout's rifle from between the elephant's feet, but, being unable to reload it, attacked the elephant with his spear. He drove the animal off and eventually killed it and then carried the scout, whose injuries proved fatal, for three hours, to Adilang. Again, on another occasion, an elephant which had been burnt in a bush fire, and was consequently in a most dangerous temper, took possession of a village water-hole and terrorised the local population. Mr. Omara, at great risk to himself, killed it with a heavy hunting spear.

Remarks: EGM - GC exchange

I don't know about you, but taking on not one but two furious elephants on seperate occasions with nothing more than a spear isn't something I'd be in a rush to do.
