Headed back to Natal this July for 7 days of hunting. Just bushbucks and maybe a bush pigs on the menu. The last time I brought a Weatherby Ultralight in 338-06 with Barnes TTX 210gr loads. I did this for Nyala and there was the possibility of Eland in the Drakensburg mountains. This time I'm 100% focused on a couple of 17+ inch bushbucks! Not numbers but quality. I'm thinking of bringing my Sako 85 custom from Hill Country Rifle in7mm rem mag. It's dialed in with 145gr Barnes LRX bullets. Are these two hard for 110lbs bushbucks? Should I go with something like a Sierra Game King or maybe a Nosler Partition? It's topped with a Swarovski 2.5-15x44 illuminated scope The other option is my AHR custom CZ in 300 Weatherby loaded with 200gr Nosler Partitions or 190gr Nosler long range Accubonds. This has a 2-12x42 Leupold VX6. Thoughts or recommendations on bullets for these feisty little spiral horns would be appreciated. |
