Yes it is catfish and if prepared the right way it is very tasty.You get a similar catfish specie in the Lake Kariba and surrounding rivers wich is called a Vundu but they get a hell of a lot bigger.They go up to 50-60kg easy.
In South Africa we even make "biltong" from the catfish wich we call "bokkoms". Very salty and I'll leave the taste of it for your imagination.
