No experience in Africa - some here in the Western Canada. I like my 9.3's and the .375 - that is what I am comfortable shooting - accurately, and that is what I would use - effectively, I'm sure. Traipsing about in grizzly bush, they make be feel quite comfortable, not so much the lesser calibres. From those experiences here and from others in Africa in similar situations, the mediums get the nod from me. There is not much difference I can see between the two, except the 9.3x62 Oberndorf, with it's 22" bl. would be handier in REALLY tight bush. Perhaps 260 Nosler Partition or 286 Partitions- or a TSX is it liked them. H4895 for decent ballistics, not the factory crap. Otherwise, I'd prefer the .375's 25" bl. with 270gr. TSX at 2,650fps. I kind of think that bullet, or the 250gr. TSX might be the cat's meow- all around. |
