Probably a steer. Maybe lost his balls somewhere along the line...
I wonder if anyone has a definite confirmed photo of the horns of a cape buffalo steer? As the horns on that cow are 100% cow like, no boss whatsoever, even a weak boss.
I too noticed the largish hump on the spine and lots of tuft. However most of the tuft is actually from the bull behind. The hump does look less cow like though.
