I took this 15 incher in the Eastern Cape this year when I took my father for his 70th birthday present. We had stalked an eland and ran into a herd of buff and just simply run out of time. On the way back to the cruiser we started down a little embankment to cross the river stream and this guy broke from about 20 yards, the tracker calmly said shoot, shoot, shoot. Being an obedient client I shot. Hit him a little to far back with the first barrel, the second barle broke his shoulder. It turns out a couple of 400gr .410 Hornady DGX are adequate for a 110lbs bushbuck. |
