Not knowing anything about bear hunting in that area I don't know if that was a long or standard range shot for there, so my comments maybe out of context.

I too felt they should of let the bear come closer. If this was possible and it looked to me like it was, then there is no excuse for shooting a tough animal at that distance. To me, what looks like poor shot placement confirms my thoughts.

The yelling and whooping might be acceptable in some areas but like the rest I do not think it reflects well.
