I don't have a problem with long range shots when nothing else fits but in this case the bear was getting closer, the hunters were huffing and puffing from exertion or maybe a little excitement and the first shot was taken when the bear was on the move. They had all the time in the world to take a rest, get properly bedded down, take a closer shot, and take it when the bear was properly stationary. The first shot at long range just has to be the best.
As for the whoops and hollers, I've really come to expect nothing different in a lot of published video. Like NitroX I've always been a boring old fart when hunting and quite frankly I just respect the animal a whole lot more.
