I hesitated to post, Gryphon and John. I feel the same way and felt they should have let the bear come closer, considering the 'skill level' displayed by the shooter. I found the video difficult to watch.

Personally speaking, I would not have permitted the hunter to shoot at a bear from that distance - no matter what rifle he was shooting. 340yards it just too far. I would even say that 140 is too far for such a bear.
