This old fellow was taken on the last day of a 35 day hunt, the last two weeks of which were devoted solely to elephant hunting on the Tana River, in Kenya. Just to show how looks can be deceiving, this single tusk weighed in at 94 pounds, when everybody expected more than 100. The size of the nerve is the imponderable factor. This was one big bodied elephant. About 12 feet at the shoulder. He was down to his last set of teeth and they were so worn the taxidermist could do nothing with them ![]() |
