Re: Bushbuck thread

This ram was taken in Mica, not too far out of Hoedspruit in August 2012. The full body mount is a gift for a mate who wanted "something African" for the foyer in his inner city office! Rifle is a .300 Weatherby.

This Chobe ram was hunted on the Kana River in Gwayi - August 2009. We stalked dawn and dusk for two weeks when the dagga boys weren't keeping us busy! On the last day I suggested we sit after finding very good spoor at a waterhole in the river bed. We had 7 bushpig come in to drink at 20 yards, then 2 rams came out of the riverine scrub and put on a bit of a show at 220 yards. This fellow looked to be the older of the two, much thicker neck, much nicer pelage, bit shorter in the horn. Again, .300 Weatherby shooting 180gr Woodleigh PP.

A Limpopo Bushbuck hunted on a cattle property in Nylstroom in 2006. He was hiding behind a small bush on a grassy flat and made a break for it as we were stalking through the long grass hunting Common Reedbuck late one afternoon. A single shot from the .270 Winchester - 16" on the long side. A beautiful ram.
