Yes, we are really looking forward to it, Steve. Since I've been there before, the dream of going back is an almost constant thing with me; my son is excited too, but since I've done all the planning, I don't think he realizes just how special it can be! The family friend that I mentioned in my other note actually took his son on their trip in 1964. The got a lion, ele, and the standard variety of plains game in areas that are now known as Tanzania. My friend is now in his mid 80's, but to this day, whenever he and his son get together, the topic of their great trip back when his son was 18 always seems to come up. The stories that they share together have impacted their lives probably more than is imaginable. Other members of his family later visited Africa after being inspired by this original trip. And last Christmas, his daughter secretly found the old slides they took, had them made into photographs, hand-wrote many of the stories she had heard her father tell almost all of her life, and made for him a photo album telling all about their great adventure. It was a stunning gift, given in love, that I think probably shows how important a trip like this with a son or daughter can truly be.....
