I disagree with you on a few points, Gryph. The chap isn't blase, instead he made a pretty brave confession in an industry where no matter what the client does he is afforded discretion. People do walk or run backwards sometimes in those situations; every situation is different. And even very experienced people can bugger things up. I wish them both the best and hope that this reminds us all to take care.
