It seems that is not unusual, I had to do a follow-up on a bull in Zambia. At first I thought it was simply a mucked up shot, then during skinning found the Hornady solid had flattened and zoomed off in the wrong directions.. I just recieved some Hornady softs (I use them for practice ammo) and found that they discontinued their "interlock" and their bullets are now "Bonded core". Can't wait to hear the reports on this budget priced "Bonded" bullet..
