Twobob, couldnīt agree more about your comments on "Green Hills of Africa" and Hemingway, in a lot of his other stuff is one of my 10 favourite authors but that book !!?? (especially the part where he expects anyone to believe that Percival would let him shoot a Rhino at 300 yds with a 30.06 ???) Maybe he did but is that hunting ? Rhinos are as blind as buggery. I know two people who know Mark, both state that is a good man who knows how to sell a product. My only issue is things on DVD which are bread and butter to antis ,a great example is that first Hippo video, where the animal is clearly in range and no-one shoots, why not ? Kicking up dirt to provoke a charge and Mark shoots first ?? Secondarily, I have been on two Hippo hunts when I wanted to shoot the animal on land (both unsuccesful) and I have never seen a Hippo behave like that on land, they bugger off sharpish, if you are between them and the water then you WILL be in the way, if you are the other side then they disappear to the water, they do not, in my very limited experience, stand there looking at you at 15 yards. I would love to know the places he shoots them, best, Mike |
