Thanks guys. I remember each hunt for each elephant, and especially the final approaches. Almost like they were yesterday.

Adam, good to be back. And good to see you getting back into double rifles too! Hmm, 470... that can mean only one thing! (Well, two I guess, since buff make good 470 fodder along with eles. Though klipspringers aren't too bad either, eh?)

I'm still sore from Obamanomics but on the rebound. The company I run is on the rebound too, but we had to cut to the bone and lay off 45% of our personnel to survive. Laying off people for no fault of their own is painful for me, no matter how neccesary, and there is no way I'm going to be elephant hunting or taking extravagant trips or even time off when others are suffering. We're hiring again, and some of our new hires are old hands, which is gratifying.

Anyway, I am looking forward to my next elephant hunt. Next year I think. Sitting behind the desk so long has me softer and fatter; time to get off my duff and into some semblence of shape. And to re-aquaint myself with the Thys.

Has 500grns (Dan McCarthy) been active? I believe Obamanomics may have had him struggling. I last saw Dan in Zimbabwe in 2008, and last communicated with him later that year. I wonder if he has managed some elephant hunting since then. Speaking of the 500NE, that was Dan's favorite for elephants, probably still is.
