It's very dificult to honestly quantify horn size on a Buff hunt. Mozambique Buffalo tend to have a lot of drop and curl, so it often happens that a client will shoot a a buff that will score high in SCI but will measure lower on the Rowland Ward method. Average size would be around 38-39 inches but would score high in SCI. But as Craig Boddington (and many others)say you should never judge a Buff hunt in inches, do it in excitement and challenge. There is also often the possibility to shoot crop raiding/rogue Elephants at US$5000 each. However as they're crop raiders there is no CITES tag and hence the government keeps the trophies. Cheers |
