I'm looking for some good photos of bomas or zaribas. Preferably historical black and white photos. Good if they surround a camp, tents or even better a shanty like hunt or trading post. There was a famous trading post near the Lado Enclave called the "Boma Trading Post". The name on the map of the Congo still exists too. Good quality scans from old books would be welcome. Or even just references to where such photos are in old books. Thanks. PS If you don't know, most here would know, a boma or zariba is the thorn bush fence or stockade put around a camp as a defence against lions, animals or cannibal natives! |
