From: Nitro (Original Message) Sent: 8/12/2002 3:03 AM Check out this site if planning a safari to South Africa http://www.professionalhunter.co.za The site has tips on general hunting information and also general tourism information. Particularly useful as a verification tool is a member database which is searchable and allows you to verifiy if the person you are dealing with on the internet, mail, phone or fax is actually a member of the PHASA - the Professional Hunters Association of South Africa. They need to be by law to operate as an outfitter or professional hunter in South Africa. And it is also a means to guarantee a level of minimum standards is maintained. Our own BigFive is listed there. Yes he is real, a South African Professional Hunter and has been through the required course and passed the exams. But beware on the internet there are many "PH's" which are as real as a broken down old horse painted with zebra stripes. BS artists! These sorts need to be exposed. They only end up harming the industry, the clients and standards as a whole. Check the site out especially the information pages. It is a useful starting point for safari planning.
