Re: CCMDoc and Pop in Namibia Nov 2011

What a wonderful safari. To go on a safari with your father. I've finally managed to read it right through properly. Well written and at times it feels like the reader is right there too.

I was laughing at the plane kerfuffle, of a delayed flight, then no flight, then driving, only to return. Only in Africa (and many other places too!).

Interesting to see you ate some leopard. Now the strength of the leopard resides in you.

Intrigued to read the elephant destroyed the trail cameras. Good on them!

What are the models of the two Verney-Carron double rifles you are using? Azur Safari Luxe's?

Regarding doubling, as one PH once said, "Lots of clients do it. Most don't admit it." A friend here in SAus with his double which has external hammers, only ever cocks one barrel at a time. Just as well for him as he flies back from a single barrel, let alone two.

Missing the brain? Well one reason a .500 and up is good insurance, let alone a .600. Your shot well and truly stunned the ele, and maybe killed it anyway. And allowed follow insurance shots. 600 power, eh?

Some exciting elephant rushes. Great stuff.

Great to read Karl delivered the goods for your safari. I enjoyed hunting with Karl in 2006 and hope to hunt with Karl again one day.

Thank you very much for posting.
