Ideal African gun battery?

The idea being to enjoy a safari to the full, with the most versatile firearms and the minimum of luggage?

A .375 H&H and a 12Ga shotgun.

That's all you need to travel light and have the most fun possible.

The 12Ga will bring you hours of sport with francolins, guinea fowl, rabbits, etc., and the .375 is all you need for anything you want and can shoot at that is beyond the shotgun capabilities.

Whatever else you bring won't add an ounce of usefulness to the safari, beyond satisfying a rifleman's itches.

OK, a .404 and a .22 would do the same... But that's the general idea.
