This was my first Impala from South Africa in 2006. To me he is the quintessential representation of Africa.
This is my second one. He was alone when we found him, obviously very old and with lots of mass, his teeth and his horns were worn down, and his whole face was crooked having healed that way from what must have been a terrific fight. I did a European mount and you can really see how crooked he is and the calcification where he healed. As Impalas go I like to think he was a real badass in his day.
