I've taken my only Eland Bull with a .375 H&H and a Swift 300 grain A-frame pill. Range was + - 125 yards and he was facing me. I hit it poorly, following a great tracking job over the next hour and a half, the bull burst out of thick cover, crossing in front of me at around 60 yards. I swung, holding my crosshairs on his nose, and put the bullet in his ear, pileing up on the spot. The bullet never exited, lodging in the off side of the skull. The first shot wasn't the fault of the bullet. It was totally shooter's error. |
