Of my six Cape buffalo, five were killed with my wildcat .505 SRE, shooting a 570 grain bullet at 2150 fps (.500 NE equivalent). The other was taken with a .458 Winchester Magnum. I much prefer the .505, but I was very comfortable shooting with it. Had I not been, I would have opted for the heaviest cartridge which I WAS comfortable with, witin legal limits, of course.
