Never fret, I have done a whole plainsgame hunt with a 416 on one hunt and a 375 on another and never had a problem..I did those hunts on my way to Tanzania for Buffalo and just had one gun as I was traveling light that year....

I also did a full plainsgame hunt once with my 6x45 and it was a success...finished that one up with a Kudu, Blesbok and Springbuck cull hunt...

I just feel like the 300s or 338 are the best suited for African plainsgame as that was the posts question, but there are surly a bunch of others that work just fine, including the great old 30-06...
