As a avid handloader I have done quite a bit of research in reduced loads, primarily for plinking and hunting of deer. Back when I had my .375 H&H double rifle I was able to shoot a 1.5" group with a much reduced 270 grain bullet.

However, the most fun I have had is with the .458 WM and trail boss. Imagine a 9 pound rifle and a 460 grain LBT at 1100 fps.
