Having recently re-read the book, I really like it. It provides personal experiences and also insight into a way of thinking about hunting many do not have today. Reflections on the value of sporting hunting, hunting in a sporting manner, respect for the game, etc. Personally reading Murray's column in the 1970's shaped a lot of how I think about hunting today and how I go about it.

A great read for a budding hunter, or the experienced hunter wanting to read an enjoyable book by an Aussie whom lived in the UK, East Africa, Arabia, Oz, New Guinea and finally back to Oz.
