Johann, your knives are superb! Absolutely wonderful.

My version of the tollekniv in the center of the pic below.

I made it from a millsaw from a local lumber mill, chisel ground and heat treated to about 55RC in my forge. Handle is locally grown, hard mountain maple, shaped to fit, well, my hand! It is a bit thicker than the typical handle on a norsk tolleknive.

I also broke from tradition in the edge welt scabbard. I am not a big fan of back welt scabbards {"tube scabbards"} for my use.



Yesterday, I spent 6 hours on snowshoes and skis scouting for coyote sign and I carried the maple-gripped tollekniv along with the parang blade {also made from a millsaw}.







Not exactly a safari, but a hard trek in deep, wet snow that had me chugging home in the dark, and yes, for effect, the wolves were in fact howling off to the southwest of me in the valley, no doubt standing over a freshly killed elk...
