For mass debate's sake:

Considering the 30's as a personal minimum and the .375 as a sensible maximum, anything over 2400fps within that range would make sense.

The real middle would be arround the .338 which would indeed be a good choice in either configuration!
(My personal favorite beeing the .338RUM)
