The 8mm Rem Mag was developed to add a belt and a brandname to the otherwise ideal 8x68S.

Now Remington can probably remove the belt, base in ona .404 rather than a .375 H&H, and call it the 8mm Ultra Clean Magnum, quaranteed to get whites whiter than white.
