Most of Kenya is fairly dry like the north of Tanzania. That means felt is at least as comfortable as cotton and felt will be warmer in the cool mornings.

In places like the Zambezi Valley and the Selous, it's a lot hotter and a hell of a lot more humid and whenever I've worn felt hats in those places, they've driven me crackers.
