Thanks for the info. It's always interesting to hear how it's done elsewhere in the world. Also interesting to hear about your success rates etc. I remember hunting in Scotland many years ago....... despite all the hunting I've done here and elsewhere, Scotland damn near killed me. I'm only a shortarse and my legs aren't built for mountaineering. We walked up what the Scots charmingly call 'the hill' which in reality is bloody great mountain for a few hours until we hit the snow line and then onward and upwards for a few more hours........... Eventually we got to the top and onto some stags. The Ghillie told me to take the one on the left and if I got a chance to take any other one straight afterwards........ I think I dropped three and then asked him if wanted the others, because I sure as hell wasn't climbing up that bloody mountain ever again. That damn climb made an 8 hour tab after Buffalo look easy! I spent the rest of my time there fishing for salmon and admiring the mountains from the bottom which was a lot easier! |
