I believe some African outfitters eg in Tanzania, only "pay" many of their staff in food and a rough camp as accommodation, or if any money less than a dollar or two a day. Also are cagey in revealing how much they actually PAY their staff. Maybe tips should be based on the amount an outfitter pays in wages rather than the fees HE charges the client. Really how much SIMPLER it would be for the outfitter to pay a fair wage and a handshake by the client serves as a thank you by the client at the end of the hunt. |
