don't wear cams.
respect the locals.
have the right "body language" for the circumstances (loose and slow movements and no stridin' around like a Belgique "colon")
have a sense of self deprecating humour. (and use it!)
be prepared to "suck up" to officialdom as circumstances require
be prepared to negotiate on issues over at least several hours if not more and sit down to do it and get some food to ease the process.
understand body "space"
DON'T confront the locals with direct eye contact!
Don't hit on the wimmin! (if you even think abt it they will know)
have enough WELL USED equipment that it appears you know the ropes.
have some French language skills.
