FWIW a local fella (Mexican= Victorian) did a self guided hunt in that area abt 25 years back. Lived with "pygmies" (forest people) etc in DRG, CAR and Cameroons from memory. He survived BUT was a case study at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute as he had all sorts of weird diseases/ parasites and may not be still alive.
