Re: Buffalo Hunting Burkina Faso

Hello! The rifle is a custom made by SIPP/Strasbourg in 1974 on a Brewex action, caliber 460WM. A good allround rifle for heavy to big game. The buffalo is a typical west african buffalo, the same species that on the east or south side, a little bit smaller, 30% of this buffalos are red, but they are not forest buffalo's! The hunting is sometimes hard because of the very high temperature, 40 to 45 degrees are not rare, especially in march or april. The hunting aera's are on the east side of Burkina Faso near the border of Niger and Benin. The problem is, you are in a French hunting aera, nobody speak English, and white PH like in East or South Africa are very rare. Oftens you hunt only with local people, good tracker's but no back up! For exemple look at www.w-safari.com ,a very rare homepage in French and English. A good camp, i know it, but personnaly i use a local outfitter near Ougarou and the game reserve of Singhou. No English in my camp! The same hunting trip's are possible in north Benin. Regards.
