Re: Accidental shooting insurance?

NRA membership in the UK entitles you to £5million liability insurance when participating in NRA approved activities (i.e. target shooting on NRA affiliated ranges). Overseas cover excludes USA and Canada. Overseas members are covered at NRA events in the UK.

The BASC insurance is better because it offers £10 million liability insurance, including worldwide cover for UK residents excluding USA/Canada. It covers all shooting activities including hunting. Cover for non-UK resident BASC members is limited to BASC events only.

However, a note of caution, the BASC liability cover is limited to £5million when directly/indirectly related to terrorism, so if you decide to shoot Bin Laden when on your markhor shikar in Pakistan, and his family sues you, your cover may be limited!!

Both NRA and BASC insurance is underwritten by Zurich, so maybe they would be worth a call if looking for hunting related liability insurance?...
