In the reports there are reasons stated for why the girl might not have see the tracker underneath the leopard and they are reasonable explanations.

No one at the scene seems to be casting any blame either. Yet anyway.

I know when I have been pressed to take a fast shot at an animal at close range I have fumbled the bolt at least once. Pressure does stuff and one doesn't react as one always believes. That's why I use a double, more fool proof.
