This accident gets our attention because it involves a sport, and sporting equipment, that are extremely important to us. Not because the injury is spectacularly great.

Cooch - I agree, we shouldn't over dramatise this, but we shouldn't dismiss it either. After all, I imagine Punki fully subscribes to dangerous game hunting, not hunting with dangerous clients...
I'm not saying BB is a dangerous client. I don't know her, haven't hunted with her and will accept the view of other experienced hunters who have. From the posts above, it appears to have been a tragic accident, but one with lessons to be learned for all. Part of the learning process is discussing hypotheticals too...
