Quote: RIPP: My post here wasn't aimed at you, just suggesting in a different way that as you said above, there are really a million little details that might have effected this whole situation, and none of us will ever know one of them for sure. A situation like this is serious of course. MOSTLY serious to the fellow shot. My concern is for him, and pardon me to all for saying so, but not as much for the shooter. No offense intended, but she will go home to a nice future if she likes. Will he hobble for the rest of his? That, too would be a very interesting thing to learn. At this point I don't even know where exactly he was hit and what the injury was. Certainly he must know there is danger involved and he accepted it in working in such a job. I have always felt dicey with armed unknowns behind me, for just this reason. His responsibility in knowing the risks shouldn't, IMO, erase hers in knowing what she was shooting at. That is...if it was her shot that hit him... PS: These reports are, IMO, mostly of value in that they are useful "lessons learned" exercises so's how to best avoid such problems in the future, if that is possible. For that reason I don't even need to know the real names of those involved, since I'll never know the real deal anyhow. |
