I certainly concur with most of what has been said regarding a suitable gun/cartridge to take to Africa but where is your sense of romance and adventure. Surely you could feel the presence of Bell, Taylor and all the rest of those great white hunters from yesteryear alongside you when you make the stalk and the shot.

Me, well hopefully I will fulfill my dream to hunt in Africa one day and the question of suitable rifle will not be up for discussion. It would have to be my Type A 404 Mauser for everything.
