Best visability is in August. About the only bugs will be mopane flies, a head net works wonders. I always take one when I go over. They are actually stingless bees but seem to want to make a living off of your sweat. The temps are nice in August too. Warm during the day and cold at night. Take a winter coat for evenings. May, June, July are all good times to hunt. Any earlier and you could run into a very green countryside yet and run into some visability issues. Maybe some difficulty locating game if it has been real wet, but unlikely in Namibia. Look out, Namibia is a beautiful place, you will fall in love with it! I think the most marvelous sight I remember is a large herd of buckskin oryx galloping in a flat grassy pan when I was up one of the big rock outcroppings that dot the landscape. |
