In the ones I shot--(2)---have used a .416 and 300 Ultra mag--shooting 400 gr A-Frames out of the .416 and 200 gr A-Frames out of the 300 Ultra--

Quite honestly, the largest of the 2 was the one I shot with the 300 Ultra--and it died within 40 yards of where I shot it..shot was about 80 yards...

The one I shot with the .416 Remington dropped to the shot---struggled a bit and died..shot was about 40 yards in very thick jess..

They are a very large animal--usually larger than a cape buffalo in weight..you want a bullet that has some penetration, and will expand to inflict damage, imo...the A-Frame is what I would use again if I had the chance at another...
