CF, did you notice the date of the article? sadly since 1999, both have been in steep decline, and Bubiana exists still in theory only. i spent a few weeks there and adjacent properties in the mid and late nineties and it was certainly a jewel. conservancies in the lowveld now are relegated to the very few who have political and economic alliances with ZANU-PF, most notably Davie and the Parks family. the rhino project, and others by WWF(now the worldwide fund for nature), some of the most noble, successfull and forward thinking conservation projects ever, will soon be just a footnote in history, like everything else in africa, victims of greed, ignorance and human overpopulation. |
