This old daggaboy was quite a bit of excitement! He took a frontal shot from the .458 lott and turned to run. A backup solid beside the tail was recovered from his throat. He was taken in Sapi with Professional Hunter Gary Fraser of Roger Whittall Safaris.

This old bull hippo was badly scarred and pushed from the pod. We crept in from the back of this island in the Zambezi and leopard crawled to within 20 yards. My PH, Gary Fraser told me to stand up and shoot him. When I stood up and looked through the scope all I saw was hippo. He went down to one shot and the insurance premium was paid via a side brain shot.
