What are the forums thoughts on shooting buff in the neck region if charging forward at the hunter?? The base of the neck/spine/thoracic spine would seem a larger target(though not markedly larger than the brain shot area on a charging animal).A solid could potentially hit neck vertebrae, spinal cord , thoracic vertebrae, lung, major blood vessels in traversing stem to stern. Review of Robertsons photo's suggests these possibilities. Indeed if the animal were coming from a bit further out one could try the neck/spine shot first then go to the nose shot closer in-- Obviously if the animal is close you will go for the brain shot first-- Any thoughts on this sequence of shooting?? |
