This thread has become like a charging bull! In regard to cattle-beasts, my father reckoned Jersey bulls were the ones to watch - and they certainly look first cousins to Spanish fighting bulls. This makes sense geographically but is strange when you consider the doe-eyed prettiness of Jersey cows. Not that we had any. We just grazed Herefords and later Murray Greys, the most docile cattle known to man. I should mention that those we shot had their heads down, eating heartily their last meals - hence the high-forehead bullet placement. Even the animal liberationist Peter Singer could have eaten most of those critters: they had better deaths than Billy Snedden. |
